It is that time again to welcome you back to school for the 2016-17 school year. I am confident that this will be a great year for your child! The Timberline Staff have been working hard to prepare for a great year. We will focus on developing strong relationships with students in order to maximize their learning experiences. Our overarching purpose is to provide each student a vision of success beyond their k-12 experience. We want Timberline students to graduate high school with the academic, social, emotional, and character skills required to be successful in their chosen path. We graduated 100% of our seniors last year and many of those chose to go on to college, technical schools, or enlist in the military.
I am pleased to welcome our new teachers to the Timberline Faculty this year. Please make our new teachers feel welcome to the community. Welcome 4th grade Mrs. Katrina Morris, English/social studies/Spanish Ms. Cori Howard, and science Mr. Chris Ball.
Thanks to the support of our school board and Superintendent Vian, we have continued to improve the Timberline facility. We are currently installing much needed exterior doors to the gym and will be replacing the main entrance doors, interior gym, and cafeteria doors. These improvements will reduce energy costs, increase security, and improve the overall look of our facility. I am committed to the continued improvement of our facility. Our students and community deserve to have a well maintained facility that they can be proud of.
I am also proud to say that we have increased the course opportunities for our junior and senior high students. We were able to add an elective Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) course for junior high students as well as an elective outdoor education course. For senior high students, we were able to add an elective that will allow students to take distance college credit courses in a classroom with a certified teacher. This will be a great opportunity for students to take courses in their chosen field of interest.
Please stop by and visit with me any time you have questions or concerns. I look forward to working with you and your child to make this a great school year! Please check our Facebook pages, website, and calendar online to stay connected with Timberline.
I am committed to the success of our students and will work to promote academic excellence, a positive school culture, and productive students. I look forward to seeing you at school and upcoming events. Check our website and google calendar for upcoming events.
